Due to the recent bush fire trains are run on our Mulbring road branch

The Richmond Vale Railway Museum is a volunteer non-profit organization, formed in 1979 with the aim of preserving the Railway and Mining Heritage of J&A Brown and the Hunter Valley.

The R.V.R.M. is located in the old Richmond Main Colliery site, Leggett's Drive (B82), Richmond Vale 4kms south of Kurri Kurri in the Hunter Valley, N.S.W.

The R.V.R.M. runs trains first three Sundays of each month and every Sunday during School Holidays (except Christmas and New years day). Gates open at 9:30am and close at 4pm.


Trains run from 10:00am as required throughout the day. With a lunch break for the crew around noon. Trains run no later than 3:00pm

The return trip on Mulbring road takes under ten minutes.

The modern entry building houses a small railway museum.


Steam is the main form of motive power but can be substituted, (total fire ban days or mechanical defects etc.) without notice with diesels.

• Adults: $16.00
• Concession: $11.00
• Children (5-15): $7.50
• Children Under 5: FREE


Group Bookings and charters are available for mid week tours, weddings, other special events, social club outings, Christmas parties etc.
